Working with Ishbel has been such a transformative experience. It has taught me to reframe how I communicate and my opinion of myself, to recognise that I already have strengths and that what I thought of as inherent negatives was not the case. Coaching has helped me to navigate what was holding me back when expressing myself, my thoughts, and my opinions. It has given me the confidence and tools to hold myself safely in these spaces and thus be more confident in myself and my communication.

We really benefitted from it, both ambassadors & staff!!! We loved the informality of it and flexibility of the pace which really suits the nature of Youth Work practice. The activities were well suited to the wide range of ages and experiences in the room and everyone felt included and able to join in. It was pitched just right! The specifics that ambassadors have mentioned have improved since the training were stance, posture, breathing and everyone loved Barack Obama!

Ishbel was knowledgeable, approachable and also very supportive throughout the session, ensuring that the training was relevant to our different roles.  It all exceeded my expectations. 

The sessions hit all of the marks we were looking at. The team were supported to have fun with each other, framed within our working practice. We were also skilfully guided through sessions that challenged us to think about the organisation, what we do and how we do it.

I loved the way Ishbel built on each exercise, emphasising the value of storytelling and tied it all together. I especially loved the mapping exercise, that was incredibly unique, I have never encountered an activity like that in any team building that I have been part of. I found it engaging and immersive.

Ishbel has an amazing skill at engaging us in a personable inclusive way.  I'm really inspired.  I heard some things today that made so much sense to me and I just want to learn more!

It has been a fantastic experience to work with Ishbel. Her expertise and knowledge helped me to become more confident and stand my ground in adverse situations. Her sessions are not dry, boring powerpoints on self-help techniques, but engaging, and uplifting conversation where I can reflect on my experiences, learn about communication and body language and create an empowering and positive mindset. She was also very flexible, fitting me into her schedule a few days before my assessment centre. As a result of our session, have successfully secured an internship and drastically increased my confidence in social settings and became more aware of my communication habits.

You helped us to see an awful lot that will help steer us forward. The exercises you did were one thing and felt appropriate and useful, but it was also your observations and interpretations of what was going on amongst us that I felt were so incisive and helpful.

This was unique, exciting,  thinking outside the box training, and was extremely enjoyable – it took me outside of my comfort zone, and it worked for me.

Ishbel was an amazing keynote speaker for our event on ‘knowledge mobilisation’ in March 2019. She effortlessly wove together personal insights and stories to help us reflect on how we use and tell stories to help people share knowledge. Her manner, presentation style and wisdom had a profound effect on those who attended the event and she was undoubtedly the highlight of our entire 2 day programme. She worked closely with us to craft her presentation to our needs and was fantastic to work with. Our only concern now is how on earth we will be able to find another keynote speaker for next year who will even come close to Ishbel!

Was a brilliant talk and learnt a great deal of skills that I can try to adopt to my working life.  Great toolkit to take away too!; Really practical session, lots of things to take away and put into everyday life - not just public talks; Best session of the day!; Clear, concise - a good reminder of how to be a successful public speaker.

Ishbel thank you for putting up with all of us and leading a very insightful, challenging, complex, and thought-provoking exercise.  The conversations that developed I found were very helpful,  challenging, passionate, and meaningful.

I did a TEDx Talk and Ishbel helped me to find my words for my presentation making sense of what I wanted the audience to understand. Ishbel took me through the process from beginning to end. Extremely grateful for all the support I received which allowed me to overcome some nerves and prepare.
